Wow! What a busy half term we have had in Spotted Owls. It really has been a lot of fun.
The children have settled well and are developing great attitudes to their learning.
English – We have fostered a love of reading and enjoyed sharing and discussing several books so far. We particularly enjoyed our Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs stories and we made a great job of writing another adventure for Harry. We have also worked hard in our Rainbow Grammar lessons, learning about nouns, verbs and adjectives and also we have been using the subject, predicate, stop structure to write sentences.
Maths - We have made a super start to our new Maths Mastery lessons. We have been focusing on place value and addition and subtraction.
History - We enjoyed finding out about the events of the Great Fire of London.
Science - Our topic about dinosaurs was a great success. It was finished off nicely by our trip to the Yorkshire Museum. All the children enjoyed the day, especially the workshops where they handled fossils and even made their own!
