What a great first term we have had.
In English we are loving our novel study of Holes, it is lovely that the children each have their own book to take home and enjoy. During our lessons we have done some lovely drama activities like hotseating and also lots of writing! We have done setting descriptions, diary entries and letters to name just a few.
In maths we have built solid foundations ensuring our understanding of place value and number is top notch! We have also been brushing up on our addition and subtraction strategies and using these to solve problems. The children are improving their speed table scores every week and try so hard in our arithmetic papers.
In other subjects we have enjoyed gymnastics - using the apparatus is great fun! We have also learnt alot during our topic on the USA. In our Inspire afternoon we combined our USA topic to our art project and designed and painted USA-inspired grafitti artwork. These looked great.
We have begun our music topic where we have performed classic 'Livin' on a prayer' and also began working on songs ready for Young Voices!
