We started the term by writing an additional chapter for the book called 'New beginnings' where we used our prediction skills to consider what might happen next. The stories were really imaginative and full of drama! Well done everyone.
For the remainder of the term we studied 'A Christmas Carol' - the topic started well with a Victorian themed party... until the fun was spoilt by Mrs Fawcett acting in the role of Scrooge who put an end to our fun! We really enjoyed the text, we used it to develop our drama skills and from it we were really pleased with our work on fear and how we show character feelings.
In maths, year 5 successfully completed topics on: line graphs, factors, multiples and prime numbers, multiplication and division methods and finally area and perimeter. All of the children are working really hard in our Mastery Maths lessons and we are enjoying using the manipulatives to support our learning.
We also completed our history topic and began our art which is a pencil drawing focus, we will continue this next term.
