We have had a jam-packed half term!
In English we have really enjoyed reading Street Child where we have linked our drama, reading and writing work to this novel. We kisck-started the topic with a lovely taste of gruel!! Experiencing what it would be like to live in a Victorian workhouse!
We have just completed a 3-day writing block on our own narrative about a robin flying home for Christmas and we can really see the improvements the children have made to their writing.
In maths we have had a big focus on fractions decimals and percentages. We have also had a big push on arithmetic, practising our 4 rules everyday and our recent test scores show we are making big improvements here.
In other subjects we have completed some Jigsaw lessons where we have really thought about celebrating differences and putting ourselves in other people's shoes. thinking and experiencing what it would be like to be blind, to work with one arm and to be unable to walk. The children were really sensible and showed empathy for others. In Science we have been separating mixtures - we really like our practical sessions! We visited Magna to support our learning and had a super day!
Young Voices is almost upon us, we have been working hard on our songs and dance moves!
