This half term we finished our Flutter and Fly topic. We really enjoyed the movement and songs and exploring different things that fly. We made kites in the workshop and did lots of learning about flying mini-beasts. At the end of the topic we went on a trip to the Lego exhibition at 2021 and then attended a performance of Flutter and Fly by the Sinfonia Viva Orchestra in an inflatable theatre. It was spectacular!
We also continued our work on sea and shore by looking at different holiday destinations and comparing seaside holidays in the past. We also explored different ways of travel to a holiday. We did some fantastic artwork based on our learning.
In maths we enjoyed adding and subtracting, measuring, exploring more and less and doubling and halving.
In English we have read many stories as a basis for our writing including The Hungry Caterpillar, What the Ladybird Heard and Handa’s Surprise. We also wrote letters to Woody and Buzz from Toy Story when they asked us to look after a toy who didn’t have a home. We have written recounts, lists, letters and stories.
In PE we have practised a range of movements and jumping in different ways. We have also completed movement sessions based on the Flutter and Fly topic. Look at us enjoying a feather race!
In PSHCE we have been discussing changes and looking forward to Year One. We discussed things we are worried about and things that we are excited about.
