It has been another busy half term.
In English we have loved studying our second novel 'Street child'. We have really developed empathy with the main character Jim and have honed our reading skills particularly in the area of Interpret. The children are also becoming increasingly aware of the need for accuracy particularly in spelling and the use of punctuation. In writing we are learning to begin a narrative in a variety of ways and have learnt more about how to use semi-colons, colons and punctuation for parenthesis. Our rainbow grammar skills are also developing well.
In maths we have tackled multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percentages and time. All these skills are then applied to problem solving and reasoning.
In science the focus has been materials and we have enjoyed planning our own experiments and drawing conclusions from them.
In other subjects we continue to enjoy PE and in particular our skipping and Thursday runs. All children are improving in this area. We are continuing to rehearse for our Young Voices trip and enjoying learning the actions to the songs too. We even found time to do some Christmassy activities along the way!
