For our last homework of this academic year, show your learning about Legends.

Changes - In SEAL we have been focussing on changes. What significant changes have happened in your life?


Week beginning 22nd June
Sports Day
This week we all enjoyed our Sports Day. Our homework this week is linked to sport and you can take the homework in any way you wish for example you could tell me all about sports you enjoy or you could let me know all about what you did on Sports Day or you could even try out a new activity and report back. Have fun!!

Week beginning 15th June
Your homework this week is to show me your learning about mental and written addition. You can show the different methods, write advice to someone else about addition or use examples.

Week beginning 8th June

This weeks homework is for the children to design their own stall they would run at this years summer fayre. They are to think about what their stall will look like, how much they would charge for people to enjoy their stall and also why people would enjoy their stall.

Week beginning 1st June

This weeks homework is for the children to show me their learning about plants. Children can use diagrams, pictures and facts.

Week beginning 18th May

Half term homework. This homework is for the children to show me different ways of learning their spellings. Children can produce calligrams, use pyramid words or use rainbow letters. 

Week beginning 11th May

Last week the children undertook a challenge to create their own political party. This week the homework is for the children to show their learning about democracy and the general election.


Week beginning 5th May

This week the children's homework is to tell me what they know about teamwork and friendship. These are two areas that are valued very highly in our classroom and in the school. The children could write a poem or tell me how you could be a good teamworker and friend.

Week beginning 27th April

This week's homework is for the children to show their learning about mystery stories. They can do this using mind maps, writing an opening chapter or plotting a story map.

Week beginning 20th April

This week's homework is based on the childrens learning of rocks. Children are to show their learning and are to include a minimum of 10 facts.

Week beginning 13th April

This week we would like you to create and illustrate a poem about your worries.

Week beginning 16th March

This week I would like you to design a banner for the Humber School Games. Please see the sheet in your learning log for more guidance and the template you must use. You might want to plan out your banner in your learning log first.

Week beginning 9th March

Show your learning following our Wilderspin trip. You could look at the photos in the gallery for inspiration.


Week beginning 2nd March

World Book Day - To celebrate World Book Day, we would like you to tell us about your favourite book! Complete a draft version in your book first, then copy this neatly onto the sheet provided. Include a drawing of the book cover, characters or an event that occurs. A selection of these will be displayed in the library.

Science: Following our learning this week about animals, habitat and adaptation, ‘design’ your own creature to live in a cold and snowy environment and show the adaptations it has made to live in this climate.

Remembrance

This week, we took part in a Live Assembly broadcast from the Tower of London and held our own Memorial Service to think about those soldiers who died during the wars, and in particular during WW1.

Show your understanding of Remembrance.

Who is your favourite author? Choose an author whose work you really enjoy. Explain why you enjoy their work. You might want to choose one of our previous ‘authors of the month.’

Show your learning about collecting data. (You could do a frequency table using a tally, a pictogram or a bar chart. You could do all 3 if you wanted!!)

Mrs.Greaves has posted some entries off to the Lion Learners competition: Freya, Kate, Bethan, Samuel, Joshua, Olivia, Megan - well done!

Week beginning 13th October

 Lion Learners Competition
We would like the children to take part in this competition.
Lion Learners  would like children to create a creature.  Children need to use their imaginations to draw a picture of a brand new creature.  They must also tell us whether their animal is a mammal, reptile, amphibian, bird or fish, and why!  The winning entrant from all national entries will receive an hour long workshop for their class.  
The competition is open to all primary schools, and the closing date is 31st October 2014. We will post entries on your behalf.
There are 5 x 1 hour animal handling sessions to be won. Winners names will be posted on facebook or can be obtained by emailing  rachael@lionlearners.co.uk This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  after the closing date.

Create your own poppy artwork using a medium of your choice (collage, paint, ICT etc.)

Week Beginning 8th September
 This week in Literacy we have been looking at performance poetry and in particular poems written by Roger McGough. What is your favourite poem? Write about why you like it and try and find a bit about the poet. Prepare a performance of your poem to show the rest of the class.
