Spring Term

Welcome back!

English - our books will tie in with our topic of toys.  Our stories will be about losing and finding things!  More will be revealed as we start our new stories.  In our rainbow grammar lessons we will be learning about proper nouns, adjectives, the use of apostrophes and using conjunctions such as and, but, so.  In our reading lessons we will be using our retrieval and interpreting skills.

Maths - we will be looking at time, multiplication and division, fractions and addition and subtraction.  We will also be starting to learn our 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

History - we will be finding out about the history of toys.

Science - we will investigating the uses of everyday materials and linking this to our toys topic

Our PE days are as follows:

Monday: Outdoor PE - please can children have plimsolls/trainers, fleeces/jumpers & navy jogger bottoms/leggings to wear for outdoor PE

Thursday : School run - children come in PE kits (as above) but they need to bring their school uniform to change into

Friday: Indoor PE - red t-shirt, navy shorts, joggers or leggings

Our teachers are Mrs Greaves and Miss Barber.
Our teaching assistants are Mrs Burton and Mrs Jones.

Please have PE kits in school every day, as due to the building work, we may have PE on different days each week depending on the weather.

Please make sure your child's labelled PE kit ...
red t-shirt, navy shorts, joggers or leggings for outdoor PE and plimsolls
... is brought to school in a small bag rather than a large rucksack.

We will inform you of our PE day so earrings can be removed on these days.

Remember to come in your school PE kit on Thursdays ready for our morning run.

Our reading count day will take place at the beginning of the week.
Please make sure your child's home-school liaison book is in so we can reward them for all of the home reading they have done. We aim for 3 reads to an adult per week. Don't forget to write in their home-school liaison book so we can count up how many reads they have done during the week.
The children will change their reading books at the beginning of the week. If books need changing in the meantime, please don't hesitate to ask us.

At home time, we will send your child home through our fire door so please wait on the grassy area near our classroom.
