We will continue our topic work on dinosaurs before moving onto a mini-topic about Superheroes. At the end of this term we are getting some chick eggs which we can observe hatching and we will be using this as a focus for our learning on Spring, new life and Easter.
In maths we be comparing numbers to 20, practising addition and subtraction, exploring pairs of numbers that make 5,6,7,8 and 10 (number bonds), looking at coins and their values, developing the language of time and learning to tell the time to o'clock and describing positions including an introduction to left and right.
We will be listening to a wide range of stories, writing for lots of different purposes and learning how to construct a simple sentence. We will be exploring vocabulary and types of words and phrases (verbs, nouns, prepositions and describing words).
Phonics (reading and writing)
In phonics we will continue to read and write sentences containing phase 3 phonemes and tricky words including 2-syllable words. We will be learning to read and spell words which have adjacent consonants, such as trap, string and milk and begin learning a new tricky words.
In PE our focus will be travelling in different ways over apparatus. We will also continue to practise object control and performance dance.
