We will continue our Space topic this half term. We will be exploring the work of astronauts in space, the International Space Station, stars and rockets
Towards the end of the half term we will spend some time discussing the celebration of Easter and seasonal changes.
In maths we will be comparing and ordering numbers to 20 and matching numerals to 20 to numbers in a set. We will continue to practice counting in 2s and 10s and to recognise that teen numbers are one ten and some more. We will practice addition and subtraction and understanding number sentences.
We will be reciting the days of the week and using the language of time such as ‘yesterday’ and ‘tomorrow’. We will be learning to tell the time to the o’clock and using language of position and direction including ‘left’ and ‘right’.
We will be listening to a wide range of stories, writing for lots of different purposes and learning how to construct simple sentences. We will be exploring new vocabulary and types of words and phrases (verbs, nouns, prepositions and describing words.)
Phonics (reading and writing)
In phonics we will continue learning to read and write sentences containing phase 3 phonemes and tricky words including 2-syllable words.
In PE our focus will be balancing and moving in different ways through dance and using apparatus.
Our PSHE work is called ‘Healthy Me’ and we will be discussing ways to keep healthy.
