Hello Striped Owls!
Our topic this term is Sea and Shore. We will be starting the term with geography where we will comparing seaside localities with Crowle and learning about the features of a seaside. In history we will be looking at how trips to the seaside have changed over time.
In art we will be focusing on seascapes and creating our own using a variety of media. We will also carrying out observational drawings and exploring different printing techniques.
In DT we will be looking at Punch and Judy puppet shows and then designing and making our own puppets. We also have an exciting workshop planned for children to make their own shadow puppets whilst working with staff from 2021 Visual Arts Centre.
In science we will be learning about animals, with a particular focus on animals found at the seaside. We also be will be finding out about animals that live in shells.
In dance we will be creating and performing our own dances based on the sea and sea creatures.
Can I remind parents that we expect your child to read 3 times a week and this needs to be recorded in their reading record. A big thank you for supporting your child with this.
