The Summer term has already been very busy for Tawny Owls. During Summer 2 we will focus on our Global Garden topic. This will include some Geography work based on mapping skills and a study of South America and also a Science topic with a focus on plants.
Important days to remember:
Monday - Indoor PE and new spellings given
Tuesday - Hand your homework in
Thursday - New homework is set
Friday - Reading records checked, spellings tested and Outdoor PE
Please make sure you have full PE kit with you in school each day just incase there is a timetable change, you can't join in without your kit! Also, please bring your reading book and record with you every day.
Homework of the Week!
Each week there will be a 'Homework of the Week!' award. The prize is that the winner does not have to do their homework the following week! (Although they can do it if they really, really want to!). Check out the sub-page below to see our winners!
We recently held our class assembly on 'Inspirational people' linked to our assembly theme on Achievements. The children worked in groups and spoke about famous people that they respect because of what they have achieved, including Ellie Simmonds (Paralympic swimmer) and Bear Grylls (Survival expert). The children conducted their own research and shared their work with the whole school. Well done Tawny Owls.
Tawny Owls have recently completed their swimming lessons. I am very proud of them as they all worked so hard. Well done!
This term our topic is called 'Global Gardens'. In Summer 1 we will be learning about rocks and volcanoes and in Summer 2 we will focus on plant life and physical and human geography.
Please join us for our Inspire afternoon this Thursday (2nd July) from 1:15pm.
