Next week it is sports day! Show in words and pictures information about your favourite sport. You could include: rules for playing it, information about different teams, famous sportsmen and women within your chosen sport.

12.6.14 Design a pirate scene
We would like all children to do this competition for their homework activity this week. (Please see the enclosed sheet.) They should hand their homework in as normal, the work will be marked and then returned so that if your child wishes to enter the competition, you can then post it off on their behalf to the address shown at the end of the sheet.

In Literacy we are writing our own information texts on planets. Create a page from a non- fiction book to tell me about something you are interested in, e.g. music or sports. I look forward to reading them!

In DT we have made books with moving parts, such as lift the flap, mouths or springs. Show me what you have learnt through the topic. (I have added some help sheets onto the bottom of this page to help you if you want to make some of the mechanisms).

This week we have been thinking about special things. Decide on something you own which is special to you. Tell me all about it including what it is, where you got it from and why it is so special to you. Draw and write about it.

Planet Factfile                      This is a two week project and therefore should be 4 pages long. You will need to hand it on the 25th March.

Your task this week is to choose 2 of the planets from our Solar System and to make a factfile about each one. (Choose different planets to the one you researched in class). You can choose any of the planets, including Pluto as a Dwarf Planet.You will need to include diagrams/ models of the planets and find useful facts. It can be presented any way you wish.

World Book Day Competition

To coincide with our World Book Day activities, we would like you to participate in our Bookmark Design competition as part of your homework. You should be as creative as possible in your design and can use different media if you wish. The competition winners will be announced on Friday 14th March and the winners will receive a voucher to spend in the Book Fair at school.

We have been doing some activities related to our new SEAL theme ‘Good to be me.’ Talk with members of your family about what makes each of you special. Present this in any way you choose.
