Wow what a busy and successful half term it has been. All staff are really enjoying working with Snowy Owls, as they embrace the mindset and strive to challenge themselves. They are such a wonderful group of learners and are very kind and thoughtful too.
In English we have enjoyed a unit of work on the Iron Man and the children have improved their story-writing skills. Everyone enjoyed Conrad's poetry visit too, and we have produced an amazing book of poems which is well worth a read. Our focus on handwriting and presentation continues, and the children are really taking pride in their work.
In maths, we began with shape and have moved onto addition and subtraction, doubling and halving. We are also working hard to improve our times table knowledge.
In Circle time we listen carefully to each other, have considered friendship issues and enjoy just being together and giving each other advice on what to do in tricky situations.
In the afternoons we have had a science focus, looking at animals and their habitats and situations that pose danger to living things. We have also started some art work looking at colour mixing and how colours contrast or complement each other.
Our Inspire session saw lots of family members coming to help and we were so proud of the claywork produced on the theme of mythical creatures.
All in all a busy and wonderful start to the new school year.
