Autumn 2 was a very busy term in the Foundation Stage. The children had lots of new songs to learn for their Christmas performance. They all did very well and looked lovely on the stage. On top of this there was the usual learning to be done.
In Maths the children have done lots of counting and shape recognition. All of the children have been given a set of number cards to help them with number recognition. We are now able to touch count when doing the register.
In Literacy the children have been learning how to handle writing tools correctly. Doing writing patterns and beginning to write their name either by tracing or copying with some children writing their name from memory.
In our physical development we have been practising fine motor skills to help with pencil control. We have also been moving in a variety of ways during our wiggle and giggle sessions.
In PSHCE we have made our own books of "All About Me" with lots of information and pictures with the children taking "Selfies" for the front cover and then taking a picture of their special friend.
