English - We wrote descriptive poems about autumn leaves and Bonfire Night. We studied Can't You Sleep, Little Bear? and explored fears of the dark. We then moved on to study Orion and the Dark. This was our favourite book of the half term. We also read The Snowman and made a start on our new class story 'Olga Da Ploga' the tale of an adventurous guinea pig!
Maths - We continued to work hard in our maths mastery lessons. We focused on shape, numbers to 20 and addition and subtraction.
History - We looked at the significance of the Gunpowder Plot and all took part in a beautiful service of remembrance at St Oswald's church.
Science - We investigated the changing seasons and light and dark. We enjoyed exploring shadows and gave good explanations of how shadows are formed.
December was a very busy month for us with our excellent production of Prickly Hay, making cards and calendars, enjoying Christmas dinner with our families and friends and our party which included a special visit from Father Christmas himself!
