A Look Back at Autumn 1
Forest Owls have had a fantastic first half term! Here are some of our highlights:
Holes by Louis Sachar
We have thoroughly enjoyed reading Holes and look forward to reading the end after half term.
So far we have written a setting description, an information text, a newspaper article and an argument text based on the novel.
In drama we have been acting out our predictions for the next chapters of the book.
Miss Chafer's Maths class have been very busy this half term! So far we have covered addition and subtraction, place value, line graphs and time tables. We have also started our learning on multiplication and division.
In arithmetic, scores are improving every week due to the children's hard work and determination!
In Outdoor P.E., we have been learning how to play netball. The children worked hard to learn different passes and the correct positions on the court. We have ended the unit playing 5-a-side games with great success!
In Indoor P.E., we have been learning about body management. We explored different solo, paired and group balances and then transferred these to the apparatus.
Forest Owls won the highest attendance award this term, which we celebrated in our non-uniform on the last day.
We have already seen great success and look forward to learning and achieving even more next term.
Keep up the good work Forest Owls!
