English - Macbeth
We are loving our work on Macbeth in English - so far we have used drama to recreate the battle scene in Act 1 - the children were all very dramatic recreating fighting and wounded soldiers and of course, the 3 wicked witches! We have worked really hard developing our vocabulary as we wrote the opening of the play as a narrative using a range of sentence structures to really bring the scenes to life.
In maths, we have continued to create and interpret line graphs. We used a range of methods to calculate perimeter and area, and continued to improve our multiplication and division skills.
In Geography we have been studying the USA. We used maps to identify the 50 states, we then chose one of these states to research. We had to find out what the human and physical features were, the climate and why people should visit. We used the information to create a tourist guide, and compared what we found out with our previous learning about Brazil, deciding where we would prefer to live.
We continued our learning about plants and animals, researching reasons why so many are becoming endangered, and learning more about their lifecycles, including some of the fascinating ways in which seeds are dispersed.
