Hi-lights of Spring 1
The Spring term has been really busy in Barn Owls. We can’t wait to continue our learning next half term!
Here are some of our highlights:-
This half term we have thoroughly enjoyed travelling back in time by 5,000 years to the Ancient Egyptian civilisation. This history topic has captured all our interest and we have learnt all about their way of life, the River Nile and the discovery of King Tutankhamun. We can’t wait to continue this topic next half term.
Ancient Egyptian Masks
We really enjoyed making ancient Egyptian masks in clay and painting them using gold, just like the mask of Tutankhamun.
PE has been great this half term. We really enjoyed out outdoor hockey sessions. Indoors we have had fun putting together sequences of rolls, balances, steps and spins and moving with control, poise and purpose.
Story writingIn English we wrote our own version of The Scarab’s secret and used our word processing skills to type up our stories
As part of our PSHCE learning we worked in teams to create our own miniature gardens.
