What a brilliant term we have had! We have had so much to fit in and every day has been full of learning and fun!
English - Our Novel Study this term was revealed to be "Tadpole's Promise". The children loved this story and enjoyed writing descriptive pieces about butterflies and tadpoles. We were able to write our own versions of the story. Even though this story has a sad ending, we loved reading it and relating it to real life.
Maths - We have done lots of work this term in our Mathematics Mastery lessons. We spent a lot of time learning about money. We were able to describe coins and discuss their value and how we could use different coins to make different amounts. Children were able to apply this in real life by coming to Miss Bouttell's shop and buying things using money. We looked at numbers past 50 and addition and subtraction. We have also been looking at capacity and will tie all of our learning together at the end of this week by looking at money and capacity within the real world.
Topic - We have really enjoyed our Science work looking at butterflies. We were really lucky to have caterpillars delivered in our classroom that we were able to observe them grow and metamorphosed into butterflies. We were able to write diaries throughout this time and it was sad to have to let them go at the end of the process. In History we have looked at Nelson Mandela and how he had an impact on the world.
We also had Sports Day this term, it was brilliant to see the children take part in all of these events and work so hard.
One of my personal favourite moments of this term was the family picnic, it really was great to see the children all join in with our song and try so hard. It made me feel so proud to see how much they have all grown.
This year has been an amazing year and I have loved my first year at Crowle Primary Academy with your children. I would like to take this time to thank you for your continued support and I hope you have a fantastic summer.
Keep up the hard work Elf Owls and don't forget to "Try Everything!"
