English - We will be reading lots of different stories this half term including Simpkin, Whatever, The Enormous Crocodile and lots of Harry and the Dinosaur stories. We will be given a variety of opportunities to write for different purposes - character descriptions, poems, our own stories. We will be continuing with our learning in rainbow grammar and our whole class reading sessions.
Maths - we are starting with place value and number. We will be looking at counting, comparing and ordering numbers, reading and writing numbers and looking at tens and ones. We will then move onto addition and subtraction.
History - our focus is The Great Fire of London. We will be using timelines to sequence the events, look at how the fire started and we will be looking at diary entries and writing our own 'eye-witness' accounts of what happened.
Science - we will be trying to answer the question 'Why would a dinosaur not make a good pet?' We will be finding out about different dinosaurs, their habitat, what they like to eat and finding out about how we know dinosaurs roamed the earth.
What a busy half term we have got planned!
