Welcome toCrowle Primary AcademyBelieve And You Can Achieve

Elf Owls

Monday afternoon is Seaside afternoon - don't forget to bring a towel and swimming costume/ clothes that can get wet in the paddling pool.   Please apply sun cream as the weather is forecast to be sunny.

Reception Children will be having their sports day on Wednesday afternoon from 1.30 pm on the field.  Children can come to school in their PE kits.  Don't forget a hat and sun cream!

Our topic for this term is Sea and Shore. We have lots of exciting activities and experiences planned to bring this topic to life. These include a visit to the seaside, a seaside themed day and a puppet workshop.
We will be starting the topic by comparing seaside localities with Crowle and finding out what makes a seaside a seaside. If you visit the seaside with your child this term please spend a few minutes to point out key features e.g. harbour, pier, beach etc.
Through our history work we will be finding out about how visits to the seaside have changed over time.
Our DT work will round off the seaside's from the past work by looking at Punch and Judy puppet shows. We will be designing and making our own puppets and enjoying a puppet workshop.
In art we will be exploring seascapes and creating our own using a wide range of media. We will also be looking at drawing and different printing techniques.
Our science work will focus on the plants and animals that are found at the seaside and we will be finding out about the animals that live in shells.
In our dance lessons we will be choreographing and performing our own dances based on the sea and sea creatures.

What an exciting term ahead, please remember that if you visit any seaside places and collect any interesting items we would love you to share them with us. We are going to have a class interest display.
Mrs Pearce managed to bring a mermaids purse back from the sealife centre in Scarborough.

It is school policy that our children read at home AT LEAST 3 times a week. We also need you to make sure that your child keeps their reading books and record in their school bag so that we are able to listen to them read.

Baking money is £1.50 a half term. Thank you for helping to support us to provide these activities for your childPlease give baking money to either Mrs Pearce, Mrs Thornton or Mrs Green in the office.
  • PE bags need to be kept in school all week in case our PE slot changes. Our PE is usually Tuesday but we will also use the hall at other time
