This term we will be welcoming new children to the end of the week sessions.
Our topic this half term will be Ice and Dinosaurs. We will be looking at the weather, the types of clothes we need to keep us warm, We will learn about the Penguins and other animals in Antarctica and The Arctic, looking at body parts and comparing them to ourselves. We will also be making bird feeders for the garden and observing the birds.
We are going to be looking at 2d shapes and doing lots of counting in various activities. We will also be exploring length and comparing sizes.
We will be learning to recognise and write our names.
We will listen to a variety of stories related to winter, animals and Dinosaurs.
We will explore story sacks and retell stories.
We will also be writing/drawing pictures in our books.
In phonics some of us will move onto the next phase and will be distinguishing between different sounds. The new children will concentrate on the nursery rhyme challenge.
We will be moving in a variety of ways in our wiggle and giggle sessions.
Learning to use scissors and hold pencils using the correct grip.
