Week Commencing 21.3.16
In both maths and English we will be completing a number of end of term assessments, including reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, arithmetic and maths reasoning. We will also continue our geography learning looking at human and physical features locally. Keep your eye out you may see us going for a walk around Crowle spotting these features. We will the use the photographs that we take in our computing lessons. We will make our own local geography collages.
We have now got 10 class points so will have our class treat going the park, weather permitting!
Remember Monday afternoon is football coaching.
Week Commencing 6.3.16
In English this week we will be starting a new unit of work based on traditional tales and traditional tales from other cultures. We will start by reading 'The Gingerbread Man' and doing some role play around this. We will then look at a similar story from another culture called 'Babba Yagga'.
In maths we will revisit symmetry and extend our learning by looking at lines of symmetry in different positions. We will the be learning about capacity. Firstly we will measure capacity with non standard units and then move on to measuring in standard units. We will be plotting our findings onto a bar graph.
In the afternoons we will continue our computing work and start our geography. This week we will be looking closely at the United Kingdom and then the 7 world continents. We will be researching a continent either individually or in pairs.

Week Commencing 29.2.16

In English we will be planning our own fantasy stories and then doing some extended writing.
In maths we will continue our work on fractions of amounts and shapes. We will be carrying out a number of problem solving activities based on fractions.
In the afternoons we will start football training, continue our computing and PSHCE work.
REMEMBER -Friday is our dress up day for World Book Day. Please remember to bring in small plastic empty bottles and a twig that can be used to make a wand.
Week Commencing 22.2.16
In English we will be reading two versions of 'George and the Dragon'. We will be comparing the stories and answering comprehension questions. We will also be reading 'The Paper Bag Princess' by Robert Munsch and writing a book review to share our own opinions of a text. 
In maths we will be starting a unit of work on fractions. We will begin our work looking at halves, then quarters and then thirds. We will find fractions of shapes and then fractions of amounts.
In science we will continue our work on solids, liquids and gasses. We will be experimenting with changing solids to liquids and then investigating if this is a reversible or irreversible change. Our experiments will enable us to make predictions, look at keeping our tests fair and make conclusions. I think we will enjoy eating the chocolate after the experimant! Yum, yum!
