This week we will be learning about...

Week Beginning 14th July
So it has come down to the last full week of they year. The children will be finishing off all areas of the curriculum and preparing for our Summer Fayre which is Thursday @3pm-5pm. 

Week Beginning 7th July
This week is the performance of Oliver everybody has been waiting for. In literacy, the children will be continuing the book 'There's a boy in the girl's bathroom' and numeracy will be looking at fractions. Remember Y5 are at Axholme Academy on Thursday for their taster day.

Week Beginning 30th June
This week will see all the final preparations put into place for the school performance of Oliver. Thursday is Tawny Owls inspire and we are looking forward to seeing all those artists out there.

Week Beginning 23rd June
This week is national sports week and sports day will be all day on Tuesday. Literacy will see the start of 'There's a boy in the girl's bathroom.' The play is just round the corner and more practice will occur this week.

Week Beginning 16th June
The children will be completing their own story of Flotsam. The whole of year 5 & 6 will be singing to get ready for their play Oliver. In numeracy, area of different shapes will be calculated. 

Week Beginning 9th June
The children will be expanding noun phrases while retelling the story of Flotsam. In numeracy, we will be looking at the chance and likelihood of different scenarios. This week sees the beginning of our song practice for the end of year play, so lets learn those words!

Week Beginning 2nd June
In literacy, the children will be looking at the book 'Flotsam' which links with our sea and shore topic. In numeracy, data handling is our topic this week with the children generating their own data from their own questions. Cycling will be back on Thursday and Friday is an orienteering day.

Week Beginning 19th May
The children will be starting a film narrative unit in literacy and solving patterns and problems in numeracy. The Spring term golden time treat will be on Monday afternoon. Cycling proficiency will be on Wednesday as the children are at the Pods for a triathlon Thursday before we break up on the Friday. 

Week Beginning 12th May
The children will be creating their own radio advert to be recorded for a performance and numeracy will have the children looking at mental methods including speed times tables. Cycle proficiency will be on Friday as it is SATs week and the children will be practising ready for rounders and kwik cricket competitions.

Week Beginning 5th May
The children will be looking at how persuasive writing can be used in different media and numeracy will be concentrating on length. Cycle proficiency starts this week on Thursday and we will be continuing to look at coasts in Geography.

Week Beginning 28th April
The children are carrying on with persuasive writing advertising their own product and looking at different uses of decimals in numeracy. On Wednesday, we are having a water safety morning and Thursday is the start of the cycle proficiency. 

Week Beginning 21st April
Our first week back will see the children look at persuasive writing in literacy and problem solving with doubles, halves and decimals in numeracy. We will have an introduction to our new topic 'Sea and Shore' and our topic for SEAL is 'Relationships/change'.
