Not A Stick

This week, the Little Owls enjoyed reading the story 'Not a Stick' by Antoinette Portis. The book inspired us to use our imaginations and think about all the amazing things a simple stick could become.

After sharing the story, we went outside to find our own sticks and talked about what they might turn into. The children had lots of creative ideas. Some imagined their sticks were magic wands, fishing rods, swords,  and even unicorns! We enjoyed sharing our ideas with our friends and listening to everyone’s imaginative thoughts.

This activity helped develop our communication and language skills, creativity and confidence as we explored how everyday objects can become something magical through imaginative play. We were amazed by all the different ideas the children came up with and loved seeing their imaginations come to life!
