A great start to 2026!

It has been a fantastic week of learning for the Little Owls!

In our maths lessons we have been learning to use the words 'more', 'fewer' and 'equal' to describe different amounts. The children have also been consolidating wider maths skills such as counting, ordering and subitizing during provision time. 
Our focus text this week was 'Stick Man' by Julia Donaldson. The children had to use their imagination during 'Drawing Club' to imagine what Stick Man might be used for. The children also enjoyed painting Stick Man portraits and making their own stick creations! 
During Read, Write, Inc. the children are focusing on learning digraphs this half term. We are also practising oral blending skills and building up confidence with reading the green word cards.
