Money, money, money!!

This term in Tawny Owls, we have started exploring mathematical knowledge around using currency, both notes and coins. This has proved a tricky concept to grasp, but the children have shown their resilience and determination in understanding this topic. We have investigated coins and notes, what they look like and even what is written on the coins in order to help identify each individual value. We have added pence and added pounds together, being sure we remember to add the appropriate pounds and pence symbol. This week, the children have particularly enjoyed getting practical with currency by comparing values using the terms greater than, less than and more than.
