The Gingerbread Man

It is our last traditional tale for this term and the children have loved exploring 'The Gingerbread Man!' 
We have been focusing on retelling the story and joining in with repeated phrases.
During independent learning time, the children then consolidated this by working together to retell the story in their own words. We also learned that we can make a new version of the story by changing the character. After recalling as many different foods as they could remember, the children decided on one type of food to put into the story. We had Pancake Man, Toast Man and Marshamallow Man! The children then went away and independently drew their new characters.
